The headlines are plentiful for NASCAR fans with feuds between Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin getting the majority of the attention by news outlets. While those four wage a war of words, Busch and Harvick are battling for the top spot in the Sprint Cup series. In other NASCAR news – it’s been about 2 years since Dale Earnhardt Jr. won a race, but he’s still making headlines of his own. This time around, he’s paying homage to his father by forging a joint agreement with his current and former teams to drive a car detailed with his legendary dad’s #3 Wrangler paint scheme. Trading card manufacturers Press Pass have decided to pay homage to Earnhardt clan with their latest entry – Stealth.
2010 Press Pass Stealth features on-card autographs, Danica Patrick’s first sheet metal cards, a 90-card base set, plenty of inserts and parallels, and the packaging and wrappers depict both Earnhardt and Earnhardt Jr. in Wrangler gear. The company even created dual blaster boxes, one of Earnhardt and one of Earnhardt Jr, for collectors to chase.
At $110 give or take a few dollars for a 24-pack hobby box (around $4.99 per pack) you’ll get a chance to find one auto and one sheet-metal memorabilia card per box. Sheet metal cards contain an actual piece of the car and they are the cream of the crop of NASCAR memorabilia cards.
Stealth is a fan-favorite because of its stellar content. It has signatures and sheet metal cards which appeal to racing collectors. Dual memorabilia cards such as the Weekend Warrior series and the Sheet Metal Signature Series that is a Stealth exclusive are among the many reasons this set always earns praise.
The base set showcases the best NSCS and NNS drivers. The drivers appear in alphabetical order from AJ Allmendinger to Michael Waltrip and trust me, all of your favorites are included. Dual Operator is a subset that puts the spotlight on the great drivers that are getting behind the wheel in both the NSCS and NNS series including Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin. The design features a foil, mirror board finish and they look slick. The backs contain driver info and talk about style, wins, losses and milestones. The one thing that stood out to me on the card backs were the stats. I loved seeing car number, main sponsor, racing team info and the type of car, that kind of attention to detail is one of the many reasons why Press Pass has had the NASCAR license for the duration of time it has. I think stats are important and I’d actually like to see more, like baseball and football cards have. It would be interesting to track wins, losses, dnfs, place started etc…
In addition to the entire nifty content that is exclusive for Stealth, the NASCAR Hall of Fame set continues here. The season-long, set-within-a-set product can be found at odds of 1:24.
A hobby box, generously provided to us by Press Pass included 84 of the 90-card set with one duplicate, 24 parallels, 23 Lap Leader contest points, and 12 inserts.

I would have been thrilled finding either one of these cards and it would have been a solid box break, but to unpack both, just sent it into the stratosphere. Danica’s sheet metal cards hit the $100 mark on the secondary market and I don’t have to tell you that the auto Kahne is a rare pull. Other cards from the set to keep an eye on? A Jeff Gordon “four wide” sold for nearly $200 and a Jimmie Johnson auto closed for $150. The big guns will always fetch a high price, and there are a lot of great cards to be had in this edition of Stealth. Let us know what you find in your box or packs!
