Will Tim Tebow Be A Successful Quaterback In The NFL?:

2009 Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects Baseball Confuses Me

This set has some nice World Baseball Classic cards but that gets buried under the confusion when it gets down to the time when you are sorting your booty are cracking open a box. I love getting rookie cards and prospect cards but then there are 1st Bowman cards and then 1st Bowman Chrome cards, and 1st Bowman Chrome Certified autographs. Not to mention a multitude of serial-numbered cards. For around $65 the price is right but you have to save every card and hope that some of these players turn into gems.

I used to like the scouting report sheets but I haven’t seen them lately. That’s too bad because I’m not a baseball prospect expert but I will do my best to talk about a few.

Angels prospect Randal Grichuk is a young outfielder with power. This card looks like its hard signed and this first-rounder! He won an international High School home run derby and I like that too so this card is very solid. He’s currently playing minor league baseball.

My next auto, again a great looking card, is of Reds pitching prospect Brad Boxberger. He’s playing at USC, who have churned out some nice pitchers in the past, like Randy Johnson, Brian Bannister, Bill Lee and my favorite Tom Seaver to name a few. He earned All-Pac 10 honors as a junior after overcoming an elbow injury. He struck out 99 batters in 94 innings. So far so good.

The next prospect is Taylor Freeman. The New York Mets chose him in 2009 and this Chrome card is numbered to just 99! He’s a backstop who plays for McNeese State and he was named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association all-Louisiana collegiate baseball team. He won the team’s Triple Crown two seasons ago hitting .372 with 8 homers and 52 RBI. He’s a solid defensive catcher with a great arm, some home for Mets fans who will need some catching help very soon!

This is a nice sampling of some of the solid players that I know about and I’m sure some others will surface and that’s the point of a release like this. It’s a real crap shoot but since the numbers are in your favor you will get a few good ones, I didn’t have any dupes so the sort was very good.

I didn’t get any printing plates or 1 of 1 Super Fractors but again I feel like I did well and I think baseball fans will want to get themselves at least one box just for the 75 exclusive players if nothing else.
