Will Tim Tebow Be A Successful Quaterback In The NFL?:

Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey Always Delivers

But at what price? A box is selling for around $150 dollars so that’s a budget buster for some and for others it may mean they just dabble getting packs of it. Let’s see what we got.

Each box comes with one acetate auto and that’s a great reason to get it by the box right there. Each box yields three rookies, signatures and memorabilia cards. Because of the breakdown I think getting it by the box is the best way to go.

Here’s what I got:
My acetate auto was an autograph of Dallas Stars young star James Neal. This “Ice Scripts” card has a nice autograph applied directly to the surface and the photo practically jumps off the card. Neal is already ahead of his last year’s scoring pace where he got 24 goals and had 37 points. He plays the game very hard and he has a great shot. He’s hasn’t reached his potential just yet so this was a great start.

My rookie cards were of Colin Wilson (Nashville, and this was one of the SP’s numbered to just 499) and son of Carey, who had a nice NHL career. Colin was a star at BC where he won a National Championship last year and he has a chance to be a real power forward in the league. He has 25 points in 33 AHL games this year with Milwaukee and he is a gifted playmaker. I did get a card of Frazer McLaren (Sharks, numbered to 799) and he’s ok but the card of Tampa future star goaltender Riku Helenius was a big score and this card is numbered to 799. He’s just 21 so in a year or so he should play in the NHL and have an impact.

My two additional autographs were good. One was a “young Star Scripts” card of Panthers draft pick Tyler Plante. Florida has a lot of goalies in their system so he has bounced around but he might make the NHL someday. The next card was a stellar pull. I got a Steve Shutt “Super Star Scripts” auto. I used to be amazed at what a great sniper he was for the Habs so this card made me happy.

My memorabilia cards were all solid and they were all terrific. The “Hat Trick Heroes” triple-mem card of Florida rising star David Booth was a great start. He’s been out for quite a while with post-concussion symptoms but he will be back soon and he’s a terrific player.

The next card was an “Honorary Swatch” double shot of Calgary netminder Miikka Kiprusoff. He’s one of the best in the business and this card is numbered to just 10! The first two didn’t have any color variations but the third piece did. It was a game-used HS double of Hall of Fame sniper Jari Kurri. The Edmonton star was something to watch alongside Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier back in the day. This winger could do it all and this two-color card was a great way to finish off this box.

The checklist is very solid, the design pops and looks very clean and elegant, and boxes will deliver. This box gave me some good instant value and some terrific future value. If you can afford to get a box, that’s the way to go.
